Children
living on Streets: There are an estimated
40,000 children living on streets in Hyderabad and
Secunderabad. Street is not safe place for children.
Apart from the usual threats of abuse and exploitation
in different ways, children are losing their precious
childhood in their day-to-day struggle for survival.
This is most unfortunate and alarming as today’s
children are tomorrow’s citizens. Going by
another saying, “as you sow so you reap”,
it should be the responsibility of all of us to
ensure a safe and joyous childhood to every child.
HCHW has been striving towards ensuring safe childhood
and preventing violation of Child Rights is particular
reference to children on streets and in other difficult
circumstances.READ
